Two huge impressive trees stand out on Etna, well accessible to tourists, in the area between Milo and Zafferana.
The first is the âchestnut tree of the 100 horsesâ, almost a thousand years old. The legend goes that, under its huge canopy, a princess with her horsemen took refuge during a storm. There are also bars and local restaurants here.
About ten minutes away, along a path leading through woods and lava stone, you will find âIllice of Carlinoâ, an oak tree thatâs almost 300 years old, with its broad branches stretching up to the sky.
Two refreshing green landmarks of Sicilian nature to enjoy during the summer heat.
